ABOUT
I was born in Leghorn, in 1981. I currently live and work in Trento.
Through painting I mean to perform a research on Man, in order to poke into causes and effects of the uneasiness that characterizes and troubles the human nature.
I'm deeply influenced by old paintings, especially Baroque ones, which I study and collect. When I give rise to my works, I usually start from a figurative image, which then I gradually deform and tear down. At the same time, my wish to go deeper into subjects pulls me to physically mistreat the pictorial surface, scratching the canvas with brushes or paint scrapers. Then I partially restore features and shapes, largely by applying thin layers of paper and color. In this way I recompose the physiognomy, certainly deformed but also authentic: this is indeed what I consider to be the most intimate and sincere Man's essence.

I am delighted to announce my solo show SANCTA SANCTORUM, in the evocative spaces of the crypt of San Jacopo in Acquaviva in Leghorn, curated by Jacopo Suggi.
The exhibition will be open from 27 June to 13 July 2025 and aims to propose a reinterpretation of sacred art in contemporary times.
The project is sponsored by the Municipality of Leghorn, the Combat Prize and the gallery Mondoromulo Contemporary Art in Castelvenere (BN).
